How do you enter the fort?

You can enter it by going through the village:
the village When you go through the village you cannot see any part of the fort. Only some guideposts tell you that it exists.
the door Even when you enter the street directly in front of the fort you cannot see it. You just percieve a big closed door.
the 2nd door Then you enter a big door and what you see is not the fort but another door and something like a forest behind it.
inside the fort estate Only when you are inside both doors you can see the building. Then you can also see the bridge that leads you inside the fort.
And you can enter it from the fields:

back side of the fort When you enter the fort from the other side you just see something like a small forest and you are not able to guess what it realy is. You have to drive round it and then you nearly have the same views like if you came from the village.
What does this mean for our planing? The fort does not present itself to the environs.
You are not able to find it by just seeing it.
You must know that it exists when you want to visit it.
There is only one way to enter the fort and when you come from the oposite side you first have to surround it before you are able to enter.
Is it right to change this off-putting (abweisend, de refus) character of the building or should we find a using that fits to that character?
In how far should we make the fort present itself?
Should there be some parts of the fort that present it better than it is presented by now?
And what about reaching the fort? Must there be a direct way if you arrive from back.
