Section - Moat
 Water flows down some sort of ramp wich is placed inside the moat (fosse, Graben). This surface acts like a mirror and lets you look into the sky. Light conditions inside the buildings improve, too. (Does that really work?)

Another effort to redirect the views from inside the building is to add projecting alcoves (encorbellements, Erker) with very large windows. The photo shows what you would see when looking out of the window. You would not directly face the wall anymore. A very important question is whether you make the bays "look" south or north. A view towards the main entrance of the fort stands against better exploitation of direct sunlight and solar energy.
